Contact UsVien Minh follows a dual-track approach to basil oil production. We tap into the region’s indigenous knowledge systems and pair it with modern science. The result? A basil oil with up to 85% methyl chavicol content that meets the ISO 11043:1998 standard.
A nursery-led process where basil seeds are treated, planted, and observed till the true leaf stage.
Moving the young plants from the nursery to the field, 30-40 days from germination. Transplantation occurs post true leaf and well-established root network confirmation.
Targeted irrigation, regular weeding operations, and pest treatment to ensure plants develop to maturity.
Harvested at full bloom, which is roughly 90 days from transplanting. Two rounds of ratoon cropping at an interval of 40 days.
Collecting mature flowers, leaves, and soft stems for oil extraction.
Partially drying the collected foliage in shade and then placing it all in steam distillation chambers. The extracted oil and water mixture collects in an essencier.
Letting the extracted mixture settle into individual components, after which the oil and water are separately collected.
Gas chromatography and spectrometric analysis to determine purity grades and ensure compliance with order requirements.
Packaged in solvent-compatible drums and glass bottles for optimum longevity and packaging grade compliance.
Using hydrosol in in-house agro-formulations and using the organic residue for microbial composting.

While the confusion is commonplace, basil oil and tulsi oil are fundamentally different. The confusion arises because both belong to the Ocimum genus. Vietnamese basil oil is rich in methyl chavicol, whereas tulsi(holy basil) oil is rich in eugenol.
Amber and other dark-colored bottles help preserve the chemical profile of basil oil. Essential oils are volatile compounds, and exposure to UV rays changes their chemical composition, which in turn ruins their potency.
Our basil oil complies with the ISO 11043:1998 standard. Methyl chavicol content is between 75–85%, with the remainder consisting of linalool and other trace compounds. Overall purity of our basil oil is 99% across in-house and third-party test results.
Our standard manufacturing and processing lead time is 7-10 days post order confirmation. This is subject to change based on formulation approval, order volume, mode of freight, and destination.
